MAGIC ANIMCURVE: MAGIC ANIMCURVE is a plugin for Cinema 4D that allows you to test out pre-built types of flow animation, such as i ease in ease out, fast in, slow out e.c.t. A similar plug in also exists for Adobe After effects and I've heard it helps speed up work flow by a large amount and i believe it could be even more beneficial for 3D software. I don't have many plugins for my 3D software however this is a plugin that I'm definitely considering getting. https://lesterbanks.com/2014/08/magic-animcurve-c4d/
I have an upcoming project within my degree, and this project is 'Character Design.' I thought this would be a good opportunity to gather some reference and post it on this blog so that i can show what kind of things that I'm in too. like i have said within my bio, I'm heavily into drawing and modelling machinery and armour so I thought i would start there. You can also see that through these images that I'm a huge fan of both halo and destiny and a lot of my inspiration comes from there.
It's only just occurred to me that I have had my blog set up for a week now and I have not shown any of my work. This is a model of a Gauss turret that I had created within Maya 2017 and rendered within Renderman 21. The model itself wasn't too hard to create, It was more the texturing that baffled me the most. I struggled to get the UV maps to create and u simply did not have time to fix it due to other work that needed to be done. I intend to return to this model at one point to try to fix this problem. However, in general, I was pleased with this model.
I think its important that I attend Animex this year, I have missed this event for a few years now and its a great oppurtunity to meet both proffesional and freelance animators. I could gain so much knowledge and advice from Animex that simply cannot be passed up.

Just A Quick Hello!

Hello! I am Jack Dingwall and I am a first year student studying Animation at Newcastle University. I am new to blogging so i am going to keep this short and sweet. I previously studied at Teeside University and quickly realised that it simply wasnt for me, the change of scenery, the hours of travel everyday...it just wasnt for me so i returned to my previous place of study, Newcastle College to study animation. I have always been into drawing, espicailly mechs and machinary, however it wasnt until i studied within Newcastle college that i found a passion for 3D moddelling and it is now is now set in stone as what i want to do for a job within the animation industry. On this blog ill be posting many various tasks and projects that i will be working on, even if its just a random model that i decide go create, I will try to show my processes the best i can.
