Experimental animation - Research, Part 3

Water mood board

With the recent release of the pro-create animation feature, I have been looking into a lot of animations that creators are making. It has really inspired me and I want to create my own procreate frame by frame animations

I started to plan what I wanted to animate and I decided to create an ocean animation so I can experiment with the flow of the seaweed, bobbles, fish, and also experiment with lighting. I wanted something a bit more free and the flow of the ocean would be perfect for this.

So, I was thinking os the layout be contained in a shape. I really like the drawing done of the airplane windows and how much they use the negative space. maybe so it looks like its all in the window of a submarine?

I also wanted to actual the ocean floor so I can get some plans in the scene and after looking at this as an example of that I am looking forward to experimenting with the lighting as the way the sun rays travel through the water is especially appealing

I want the colour pallet to be limited like this and instead relied on shade to created depth

but i might add some warm colour too to help with that contrast and make the lighting feel warmer

Ad for my pixel art characters, i have decided to create three characters that are all completely different from each other. These three characters will resemble my fire team form the game destiny, Me and my two friends. The character below is my character and you can see that although it is pixel art, it shares no characteristics from the last design, they are all going to be completely different and i cannot wait to see how all three compare to each other once they are finished. As for my dragon, i was able to add a lot more detail to both the horns and face. I even added an additional two horns to bring the character more to life and give him a more interesting silhouette. As you can see the character also has antlers and wisps coming from his chin, this was heavily inspired from Haku the white dragon from the Studio Ghibli movie 'Spirited Away.' Although I te...
