Well everyone...meet Ink Pot. This is my new character that I have decided to make my final experiment for this project. Using this new character design I will be creating a walk cycle using Procreate and using that walk cycle to create Risograph frames. I have a few weeks left on this project so it is going to be incredibly exciting. I finally have my own character that I can use to make endless experiments! Admittedly I was starting to lose passion within this project, every experiment that i created just seemed to go nowhere. However creating this little character was a lot of fun and has renewed my excitement for this project. This design was create purely within Procreate so that whenever I am ready to animate him I can just open up this file and get going. It has been a while since i have simply created a design in Procreate, so this was incredibly refreshing. I also wanted to keep the design simple, this because I can tend to get carried away when i,m drawing and I add way too much detail, so when it came to this design I had to make sure I knew when it was the right time to stop. Adding too much detail would have made the walk cycle impossible to create Over the last few weeks of this project I am going to pursue further experiments using my new character and hopefully make experiments that I am proud of. In future posts you will see me further my development throughout this project and may even see some small design changes on my ink pot. As much as I love my design the way it is, there is still a lot more I could do with him, so if I have time I will. I will see all in a few days with some further progress in this experiment. See you all soon!!
Over the past week i have made significant progress throughout both of my chosen subjects, Zbrush and Pixel art. Ad for my pixel art characters, i have decided to create three characters that are all completely different from each other. These three characters will resemble my fire team form the game destiny, Me and my two friends. The character below is my character and you can see that although it is pixel art, it shares no characteristics from the last design, they are all going to be completely different and i cannot wait to see how all three compare to each other once they are finished. As for my dragon, i was able to add a lot more detail to both the horns and face. I even added an additional two horns to bring the character more to life and give him a more interesting silhouette. As you can see the character also has antlers and wisps coming from his chin, this was heavily inspired from Haku the white dragon from the Studio Ghibli movie 'Spirited Away.' Although I te...
