Whilst I was researching into VFX medias that I could use as a resource throughout my project, I came across a plug-in for Maya called Brickit. Brickit is a plugin that imports every LEGO brick into Maya with its very own snapping system, allowing anyone to be able to easily create LEGO models within Maya. Although I cannot say much about the programme as I have only just started using it, I can say that it is incredibly fun and theirs a lot of potential for me to use this new plugin within this VFX project. The plugin is 30 pound and it is worth every dime, so far I have been able to create a wide range of models and easily render them. Hopefully, If I have time, I will be able to composite some of these LEGO objects into the real world. I currently have a lot of plans for what i want to create within this project, however, if I have time to implement some of these new designs within my work than I will. If not, then I will definitely include them in a future project! Using Brickit so far has been a nostalgic trip, I used to love LEGO as a kid and it was probably playing with LEGO that sparked my passion for 3D modelling, so far I have created 3 vehicles and with each one I have had to download the instructions from the LEGO site. I felt like a kid again, and it was an amazing experience to dive back into my childhood, I would recommend any 3D modeler to give this programme a try as it is truly a lot of fun. Lets just hope I can find the chance to implement it into my work!
Over the past week i have made significant progress throughout both of my chosen subjects, Zbrush and Pixel art. Ad for my pixel art characters, i have decided to create three characters that are all completely different from each other. These three characters will resemble my fire team form the game destiny, Me and my two friends. The character below is my character and you can see that although it is pixel art, it shares no characteristics from the last design, they are all going to be completely different and i cannot wait to see how all three compare to each other once they are finished. As for my dragon, i was able to add a lot more detail to both the horns and face. I even added an additional two horns to bring the character more to life and give him a more interesting silhouette. As you can see the character also has antlers and wisps coming from his chin, this was heavily inspired from Haku the white dragon from the Studio Ghibli movie 'Spirited Away.' Although I te...
