I have just been given the new Story telling Brief and I have decided to make some changes regarding my workflow. I am going to approach this brief very differently, this animation needs to be no less than a minute long so i need to begin my development as quickly as possible. Whilst I will still be looking at research materials, I will also be starting my projects final piece within a few days.
I want to challenge myself throughout this project and want to try focus on the narrative aspect of my work rather than the asset creation. Therefore I will be using pre-built assets from other games to form my scene. There is a game that I love called Destiny, this is an open world Sci-fi genre game. Due to the massive following that the game has, the community have extracted some of the games files enhanced them so that people can make fan art or animations. When they extract the files, they re texture and re rig every model so that they are all ready for animation uses. The game company 'Bungie' has even allowed this due to the sheer amount of artwork that is created surrounding there models. This was a huge task for the community to pull off, but they did it and they continue to update there drop box with new models every month. For my final, piece I intend to use some of these assets. I have always wanted to create a Sci-fi related animation and these assets allow me to do that. This is not a chance that I cannot pass on, I need to give this final brief everything that I have and produce a final piece that I am proud of. In the next few weeks, rather than posting an experiment every week, you will see progress updates on my final animation. I chose to do this as it will be great for you all to come on this journey with me and I believe that this is the best way to do it.
