Story Telling Brief: Final Piece Progress 3

Over the past few days I have been trying to find methods that will improve my overall shot, but no matter how much I tried, my scene just seemed to look plain and boring. Therefore, I decided to make a backdrop. I needed to create something that was related to the scene but an object that wouldn't be to distracting, so I created a planet. I needed to create this planet from scratch as unlike the other models that the Destiny community provides, I needed full customization of my model. I began by watching a video tutorial by the 'PolygonIsland' YouTube video. This video covers how to create the planet of Jupiter, however, this will be a great base of which I can build my plant upon. By adding additional effects such as the planetary rings and color correction controls I was able to create the perfect planet for my animation. The task of creating the planet was very straight forward and if you want to follow the tutorial yourself I will place the link below. Considering how straight forward the process was, the results where phenomenal. This is also the first-ever model that I have created in Blender, ad it was incredibly fun.

However, the planetary rings was a much harder process, it was straightforward forward but you will definitely need have a basic understanding of texturing nodes (which I didn't). However, after watching the video a few times and experimenting with the nodes controls I began to understand what they all did.

Pixel Art and Zbrush Dragon Progress Update:

Over the past week i have made significant progress throughout both of my chosen subjects, Zbrush and Pixel art. Ad for my pixel art characters, i have decided to create three characters that are all completely different from each other. These three characters will resemble my fire team form the game destiny, Me and my two friends. The character below is my character and you can see that although it is pixel art, it shares no characteristics from the last design, they are all going to be completely different and i cannot wait to see how all three compare to each other once they are finished. As for my dragon, i was able to add a lot more detail to both the horns and face. I even added an additional two horns to bring the character more to life and give him a more interesting silhouette. As you can see the character also has antlers and wisps coming from his chin, this was heavily inspired from Haku the white dragon from the Studio Ghibli movie 'Spirited Away.' Although I te...
